All of us have read Newton's Third law of Motion:
"To every action there is equal and opposite reaction."
Couple of days back, we had a trainning session on Effective Managerial Skills. There is key important learning which i had from this trainning programme that is stop reacting, although at times i am unable to control my reactions on certain occasions.
My personal observations, being young we are comfortable in taking targets, doing things differently, accepting new challenges. In fact our mind our body is so flexible in accepting any kind of actions.
As we get older, experienced, our mind, our body starts generating reactions. Like if i ask some help from one of my experienced collegue, the immdieate reactions would be:
I am busy please talk to me later. (which is still fine).
Please dont disturb me.
What do you want?
I don't know abou this?
There are other people who are free why don't you contact them.
I am already having so much work, i can't do this.
More or less, in 95% cases people would not even listen to the other person and would start reacting. This reaction is nothing but a mindset which is predefined to any kind of action.
Why such reactions? why we change from active to reactive?
Mostly these changes are due to change in our physical and mental changes, with the passage of time and age our arrogance, ego, attitude enhances which makes us superior to less experienced and younger age groups than us. This directly affects our active nature to reactive nature, we become defensive instead of progressive.
Why such reactions with change in age and experience?
Majorly beacuse we beome less target oriented and love to be in a comfortable zones. Therefore whenever we have tasks infront of us we hesitate to accept and fullfill them.
How to get back on track of active performer?
One can be an active performer if one has enthusiasm, energy and attitude for take new challenges. One can never get older if he keep on accepting challenges all through their lives.
So what are your waiting for?
